Rubber Modifier SPE-100 is one of  SPE short fiber series products and the latest type in functional rubber aids. It has been developed after two years research under a system of combining factory, university and research institute with each other. It has been used in commercial production in several large-medium tyre manufacturers and demonstrates many excellent properties. It is showed by the analysis and test in High Molecular Material Modification Lab of Qingdao Scientific & Technical University and the application in commercial production in Qingdao Yellow Sea Rubber Co.,Ltd that SPE-100 is non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-pollutioned and give the vulcanizate with it the required physical properties.

As the volume cost of SPE-100 is much lower than that of mix, the cost of mix can be remarkably reduced by adding SPE-100 without any adverse effect on physical properties of vulcanizate.

 The boundary compatibility of different ingredients in recipe can be effectively improved by the paw-shaped non-ionic amphiphilic phase boundary activating function of molecule provided by the optimized molecular design of modifier. Thus, the curative, filler and other ingredients can be easily dispersed, an evenly distributed cross-link network is obtained, the physical properties of vulcanizate are effectively improved and the performance / cost ratio and service life of tyre are increased

1.      Main functions

SPE-100 is a new multi- functioned material. It can either significantly improve the mechanical properties of vulcanizate, or the processibility of rubber compound.

SPE-100 is  widely used in tread , sidewall , carcass ply and apex of tyre, especially TBR tire, PCR tire and QTR tire to improve the wear resistance, cut and tear resistance, decrease the heat built-up and extend the service life of tyre.

SPE-100 has the following features in appliction:

·Easily dispersed in rubber mix because of its good flowability, and improve the compatibility of rubber with various ingredients ;

·Increase the wear resistance of tread compound by 27～30%;

·Increase the flex fatigue life of tread compound by 10%

·Lower the initial Mooney viscosity of mix by 27.5% and give the similar balanced Mooney viscosity;

·Increase the tear resistance of vulcanizate by 7～10% without changing the basic mechanical properties;

·Significantly inprove the even dispersity of reiforcing filler ;

2.      Usage and addition level

Up to 16 phr SPE-100 can be sued in rubber mix. The recommended addition level is 6～8phr. The extra sulfur equal to 5% addition level of SPE-100 should be added because SPE-100 will participate the cross-linking.
